The 35kV KYN substation armored withdrawable type switchgear is a factory-assembled, metal-enclosed, indoor high-voltage switchgear designed for 40.5kV (35kV nominal) three-phase AC power systems. It belongs to the KYN series and is used in utility substations, industrial power plants, large commercial complexes, and renewable energy collection stations.
Unlike fixed-type switchgear where breakers are bolted in place, this armored withdrawable type features a moving breaker trolley that can be rolled into three distinct positions: operating, test/isolated, and withdrawn. This design allows a faulty breaker to be replaced within minutes without de-energizing the entire busbar – a critical advantage for continuous power supply.

The core function of this equipment is to receive 35kV incoming power from a transformer or overhead line, protect the downstream network with circuit breakers, and distribute electricity to outgoing feeders such as medium-voltage motors, secondary transformers, capacitor banks, or large industrial loads. The 35kV KYN substation armored withdrawable type switchgear also provides:
● Isolation – Visible disconnection for safe maintenance
● Protection – Overcurrent, earth fault, and short-circuit tripping via relays or IEDs
● Metering – Voltage and current measurement for substation SCADA
● Interlocking – Mechanical five-prevention system to eliminate human error

Feature 1: True Armored Withdrawable Construction
The Withdrawable Metal-enclosed Switchgear features separate steel-plate compartments for the breaker, busbar, cable termination, and low-voltage control. Each compartment is grounded and isolated from arc flash propagation.
Feature 2: Five-Prevention Mechanical Interlocking
The five-prevention system is fully mechanical, not software-dependent. It physically prevents:
1. Closing the breaker with grounding switch closed
2. Opening the front cover with breaker closed
3. Moving the breaker between positions when live
4. Operating grounding switch with live conductors
5. Closing breaker without control power
Feature 3: High Arc Fault Containment
Internal arc classification (IAC) tested to 31.5kA for 1 second. Arc flaps direct pressure upward and away from operators.
Feature 4: High-Voltage Insulation Reliability
Phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground clearances exceed IEC 62271-200 minimums. All busbars are heat-shrink insulated or covered with anti-corona shielding.
Feature 5: Intelligent Monitoring & Remote Operation
Standard IED (intelligent electronic device) with RS485/Modbus or IEC 61850 GOOSE messaging. Real-time monitoring of breaker position, spring charge status, SF6 (if used), temperature, and partial discharge.

We do not cut corners on insulation clearance, busbar material, or interlocking robustness. Every KYN Switchgear leaving our factory undergoes a full 95kV withstand test – not a reduced voltage "routine" test. We also provide panel-specific wiring diagrams in CAD and PDF, not generic templates.
Each 35kV KYN substation armored withdrawable type switchgear panel is wrapped in VCI anti-rust paper + plastic film
1. Then enclosed in a fumigation-certified plywood crate with foam padding on all corners and edges
2. Breaker trolley is shipped in the withdrawn position, locked with transport brackets
3. Busbars are disassembled, individually wrapped, labeled by phase and panel number
4. Secondary plugs, racking handles, earthing keys, and spare fuses packed in a weatherproof accessory box inside the LV compartment
5. Silica gel desiccant bags added for humidity-sensitive shipments (sea freight)

Q1: Can 35kV KYN substation armored withdrawable type switchgear be used outdoors in a compact substation?
A:Standard: IP4X (indoor only).
Option: IP54 outdoor enclosure with weatherproof roof & forced ventilation, housing multiple panels.
Action: Specify “outdoor” when requesting a quote.
Q2: How to verify five-prevention interlocking before energizing?
A:Follow step-by-step test in manual (basic test: 10 min).
Key checks: Breaker open + grounding closed → should block racking in. Breaker closed → front door should stay locked.
Recommendation: Test during commissioning and every 6 months.
Q3: Lifespan of primary disconnecting contacts & replacement indicator?
A:Silver-plated copper contacts: rated for 5,000 operations.
Wear indicator: red line visible on contact finger → replace.
Typical substation (once/year racking): lasts 30+ years. Frequent operation (arc furnaces): measure contact resistance annually.
